How it works

Introduce a school

Your own school or another school in your network. Tell Odyssey about them and, whenever possible, connect us with the right person.

Odyssey takes it from there

Odyssey explains Explorer, answers questions and handles the school purchasing process. You do not need to sell Explorer.

The school joins

If the eligible referred school becomes a paid Explorer customer and satisfies the program terms, the referral qualifies for a reward.

Either answer is welcome — teachers are encouraged to bring Explorer to their own school. A yes simply means Odyssey reviews reward eligibility with you before anything is paid.

Odyssey Discovery uses what you share here only to contact the school about Field Notes: Explorer and to track your referral. Please share a contact's details only where you know it is appropriate to do so — we will not name you as an endorsement without asking. Referral eligibility and cash-reward eligibility are separate: employer, procurement and disclosure policies vary, and Odyssey does not give legal or tax advice.

What earns a reward — and what doesn't.

Educators may bring Field Notes: Explorer to their own school, or introduce Odyssey Discovery to another school or educational organization. Making a referral and eligibility for a personal Referral Reward are separate.
A Referral Reward becomes eligible only after Odyssey Discovery receives and verifies payment for a qualifying Field Notes: Explorer membership. Leads, introductions, meetings, proposals, verbal commitments and unpaid purchases do not qualify.
$300 for an eligible paid 12-month Explorer school membership ($1997). $100 for an eligible paid 5-month Explorer school membership ($997).
One school keeps one sales record, and one school purchase produces one Referral Reward.
Referrals must be genuine warm introductions. Purchased lists, scraped contacts, mass unsolicited email and false endorsements are not eligible.
Educators never set prices, offer discounts, negotiate contracts or speak for Odyssey Discovery.
Personal Referral Rewards are subject to eligibility requirements, applicable law, employer policies, and Odyssey Discovery's approval. Participants are responsible for complying with employer requirements concerning outside compensation, conflicts of interest, procurement, vendor relationships, gifts and disclosure.
Referrals involving a participant's employer or a purchasing decision the participant influences require additional review and may not qualify for a personal cash Referral Reward.
Odyssey Discovery does not pay participants to exercise purchasing authority or improperly influence a procurement decision.
Referral Rewards may constitute taxable income. Participants are responsible for their own tax obligations. Odyssey Discovery may request tax documentation and issue applicable tax reporting forms when required.
Submission of a referral does not guarantee a Referral Reward. Odyssey Discovery reserves the right to determine referral attribution and reward eligibility and to deny rewards involving duplicate referrals, self-referrals, conflicts of interest, fraud, policy violations or other ineligible activity.

Know a business that could fund a school?

A local employer, credit union, nature center or science organization can fund Explorer access for a school. You make the introduction — Odyssey handles the rest. Introductions that lead to eligible paid Explorer school access follow these same referral rules; nothing new is added. Where you have purchasing influence at the school involved, the sponsorship still moves forward and the personal cash reward is reviewed separately.
